Greater Baton Rouge Business Report
What the rebrand to Prisma means for the former Vivid Ink
Longtime Baton Rouge print and marketing services provider Vivid Ink officially rebranded this week under the Prisma name, following its acquisition by the Phoenix-based company earlier this year.
Vivid Ink’s Baton Rouge and New Orleans locations will now operate as Prisma Baton Rouge and Prisma New Orleans.
The rebrand aims to provide clients with access to Prisma’s national footprint and advanced technology, while maintaining the local team and culture that have defined the company for over two decades.
“After 26 years, it’s a happy and a sad day,” says Prisma Baton Rouge President Stephen St. Cyr. “We’re now a part of a bigger group. Everything’s being rebranded. Our signs are changing. We are officially becoming Prisma today. It’s a big change.”
St. Cyr co-founded Vivid Ink in 1999. The company has since grown to 225 employees across its Baton Rouge and New Orleans operations and has been a partner to schools, restaurants, corporations and community organizations across south Louisiana. Known for its custom signage, printing, corporate apparel, branded merchandise, and large-format print capabilities, Vivid Ink’s client roster has included Raising Cane’s and LSU athletics.
For Prisma, the acquisition brings new expertise and expanded capabilities. CEO James Hill says Vivid Ink’s strength in large-format printing and branded merchandise will significantly enhance Prisma’s offerings, while also adding custom decorating to its portfolio.
With Vivid Ink now part of its network, Prisma operates six production facilities nationwide. The company has scaled rapidly in recent years, growing from a single location to a multimarket presence in six years. Prisma was recently ranked No. 38 on Printing Impressions “Top 300 Printing Companies” list- a 26-spot jump from the previous year—driven by both organic growth and acquisitions.
Vivid Ink had been on its own growth trajectory before the acquisition. In 2023, the company added a 5,300-square-foot building at its Airline Highway headquarters for corporate apparel and advertising production. A few years earlier, it launched a sister company, Vivid Imprint, specializing in corporate branding products for local businesses.
