If you’ve attended a major sporting event in the Phoenix area, you might have paged through a program to review rosters, read the latest season averages, or check the injury report. Chances are that these materials were ordered via on demand printing, so the information is as current as humanly possible. Have you ever wondered about the on demand printing process? There’s a complex chain of events that happens to deliver up-to-date information in the form of a printed program – just in time for every game.
We’ve devised a plan for each sports program for maximum efficiency. For the Phoenix Suns program “FREE THROW,” we print, trim and fold the majority of pages in 8-game sets. The morning of each game day, 10,000 rosters are printed on demand, combined with the main program and stitched into booklets. Programs are delivered to the arena hours later, every game day throughout the season.
The Prisma Graphic design team prepares page layouts in advance, with static content in place – advertising, feature stories, scorecards, rules & regs – leaving placeholder areas for critical, last minute content. For the Diamondbacks program, “D-backs Insider,” large amounts of fresh content are carefully added to areas throughout the program template within the final few days before printing begins.
Throughout the hockey season, we run the presses overnight to deliver on demand printed programs each game day for the Phoenix Coyotes. Art files are received in the morning the day before each home game, and the job is ushered through proofing, preparations, printing, trimming and folding overnight, to make the game day delivery on-time, every time.
