The Challenge
When the Arizona Host Committee set out to bring the College Football Playoff National Championship to Glendale, they needed more than a proposal. They needed a way to help selection committee members picture the experience before a single game was played.
They came to Prisma with an idea: could we build a tiny replica of University of Phoenix Stadium?
The Impact
Bid presentations are competitive, and committees see plenty of decks and renderings. Standing out meant giving decision-makers something they could hold, open, and experience — something that made the stadium, and the excitement of game day, feel real.
Our Approach
Prisma’s team took the concept and ran with it. In about a week and a half, our team designed and built a small box that told the whole story of University of Phoenix Stadium.
The exterior mirrored the stadium’s distinctive, sleek architecture. Open it, and a 360° view of the stadium slid into view, wrapped in panoramic photographs of cheering fans. The final detail brought it all together: a pull-out “field,” covered in fake grass and marked with white gridlines, completing the experience from the outside in.

The Outcome
The replica did exactly what it was built to do. It impressed the selection committee — and it caught the attention of local news, who covered the winning presentation on air.
What’s Possible Now
Come 2016, Glendale will host the College Football Playoff National Championship. What started as a question — could we build this? — became a small box with an outsized role in bringing a national championship home.
