The Challenge
Prisma Austin, wanted more than a magazine, they wanted a piece their audience would stop and hold onto — something that proved, page by page, what’s possible when print is treated as a craft rather than a commodity.
That kind of ambition raises the bar. Every material, finish, and construction detail has to work together, and there’s little room for a technique that looks good on its own but doesn’t hold up next to the rest.
The Impact
A magazine like this only succeeds if the experience feels seamless from cover to back — the kind of publication a reader keeps on their desk instead of recycling. Achieving that meant coordinating dozens of specialized techniques across fourteen interior pages and two covers, with no two spreads built the same way.

The Prisma Appraoch
We worked to bring Prisma Austin’s vision to life through a front-to-back sensory journey:
- A die-cut vertical pocket on the back cover, hand-converted to close out the piece the same way it opened: with intention.
- A 10.5′ x 12′ semi-concealed Wire-O cover, hand-converted with a blind-embossed logo, gold foil stamping, and a dire-cut admission ticket — an opening impression built to be noticed and touched.
- Interior spreads that shifted material and finish with purpose: gloss cover stock with foil stamping and spot UV for pages that need to shine, iridescent Stardream Crystal stock for pages that call for shimmer, and clear transparent stock layered with white opaque ink for a page that plays with light itself.
- Functional design woven into the story, including a scored fold-over panel and a die-cut pocket with business card slits — practical features that give the reader something to do, not just something to look at.
The Outcome
The result is a magazine that reads more like a curated object than a print run — one where texture, light, and structure work together on every page. For Prisma Austin, it’s a tangible demonstration of what our brand stands for: precision, craftsmanship, and an unwillingness to settle for ordinary.
What’s Now Possible
Projects like this show what happens when a print partner is brought in early enough to think alongside the client, not just execute a spec sheet after the fact. It’s a model for what’s possible on future flagship pieces — proof that the right partner can turn an ambitious idea into something readers actually want to hold.
